Russia is offering its \u201cBizon\u201d counter-drone system to Egypt, following Cairo\u2019s report of an unprecedented drone strike at its Damietta Port<\/a> since the outbreak of the Iran-Israel-US conflict.<\/p>\n

The Bizon was developed by state-owned defense company Rostec\u2019s segment, High-Precision Systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The TKB-1167 Bizon is an export<\/a> version of the Russian army\u2019s Zubr short-range air defense<\/a> system, which autonomously tracks drones and engages them under orders from a human operator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Rostec did not disclose any details of their marketing proposal, including the system\u2019s cost or implementation timeline.<\/p>\n

Bizon Anti-Drone System<\/p>\n

Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of Rostec\u2019s Armaments Cluster and a member of the Bureau of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia, described<\/a> the Bizon as a \u201clast line of defense.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bizon independently detects and tracks small and low-flying aerial targets, and engages them with 7.62 mm PKT machine guns.<\/p>\n

Like the Zubr, the system reserves the final engagement decision to the human operator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It can interact with external detection systems, as well as be used independently or as part of a unified counter-drone defense architecture.\u00a0<\/p>\n
