{"id":413745,"date":"2026-09-06T23:16:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T23:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/413745\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T23:16:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T23:16:13","slug":"anambra-hiv-response-campus-initiative-launched-in-27-insti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/413745\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra HIV Response: Campus Initiative Launched in 27 Insti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency has launched a new campus-based HIV response initiative across 27 tertiary institutions in the state, targeting adolescent young people with the aim of intensifying prevention, awareness and support services.\n<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, known as the \u2018Campus Action Committee on AIDS,\u2019 comprising lecturers and students, was unveiled during the inauguration of the HIV focal persons from each participating institution, in Awka, the state capital, on Sunday.\n<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the unveiling, the Executive Director\/Project Manager, ANSACA, Dr Nkem Okeke, said the agency would provide training and formally inaugurate the committees to ensure that their activities align with professional and ethical standards.\n<\/p>\n<p>Okeke stated that the agency is visiting tertiary institutions to strengthen the HIV response and deepen interventions on HIV prevention, awareness and control, alongside the focal persons.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe \u2018Campus Action Committee on AIDS\u2019 comprises a member of the school authority (school lecturer) and a student representative.
