The Angola Oil&Gas (AOG) Conference and Exhibition announces the nominees for the 2026 AOG Awards, recognizing the companies, projects and initiatives shaping the continued development of Angola\u2019s oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n
Taking place during the AOG 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards in Luanda, the ceremony will celebrate achievements spanning upstream investment, exploration, local content, corporate social responsibility, oilfield services and downstream development. The awards form part of AOG 2026, taking place September 9\u201310, with a pre-conference day scheduled for September 8, and recognize milestones achieved across Angola\u2019s oil and gas value chain.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s nominees reflect a period of renewed investment and project activity in Angola, encompassing major offshore developments, new discoveries, indigenous upstream growth, community initiatives, locally developed technology, and expanding refining and logistics infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Game Changer of the Year<\/p>\n
ANPG \u2013 for advancing Angola\u2019s Hydrocarbon Strategy 2025\u20132050 and its long-term roadmap for upstream development.
\n Azule Energy \u2013 for delivering first gas from Angola\u2019s first non-associated gas development and reaching FID on the $5.1 billion Greater PAJ project.
\n TotalEnergies \u2013 for advancing the development of the landmark Kaminho deepwater project.<\/p>\n
Explorer of the Year<\/p>\n
Sonangol \u2013 for successfully appraising the Katambi-2 well in Block 24 and completing Angola\u2019s first full drill stem test on a non-associated gas reservoir.
\n Chevron \u2013 for making a new oil and gas-condensate discovery at the 105-4X exploration well in Block 0.
\n Azule Energy and its Block 15\/06 partners \u2013 for the Algaita-01 discovery, with preliminary estimates of around 500 million barrels of oil in place.<\/p>\n
Local Company of the Year<\/p>\n
Alfort Petroleum \u2013 for advancing exploration at KON 8 in the onshore Kwanza Basin.
\n Etu Energias \u2013 for its Espadarte 7ST2 appraisal success and expansion into Blocks 14 and 14K.
\n ACREP \u2013 for strengthening indigenous upstream participation as operator of KON 19 and across other strategic Angolan acreage.<\/p>\n
CSR Initiative of the Year<\/p>\n
Block 17 Partners \u2013 TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Equinor, Azule Energy and Sonangol \u2013 for advancing the MUNGU Program to strengthen the capabilities of Angolan suppliers and SMEs.
\n Cabship \u2013 for providing industry training and practical experience to young Angolans through its learnership and internship program.
\n Poliedro, Etu Energias and Kotoil \u2013 for supporting communities affected by flooding in Benguela Province.<\/p>\n
National Service Company of the Year<\/p>\n
Angola Environmental Servi\u00e7os \u2013 for advancing industrial waste valorization in Angola while expanding its environmental solutions regionally.
\n Copia Group of Companies \u2013 for developing AI- and machine learning-powered software for seismic interpretation and oilfield management.
\n Petromar \u2013 for delivering protective structures for the Kaminho FPSO and supporting greater Angolan participation in major offshore developments.<\/p>\n
Downstream Player of the Year<\/p>\n
Sonangol \u2013 for strengthening Angola\u2019s strategic shipping capacity through the development of a new one-million-barrel Suezmax tanker.
\n Cabinda Refinery \u2013 for commencing commercial operations in 2026 and expanding Angola\u2019s domestic refining capacity.
\n FAMAR Energies \u2013 for investing in petroleum logistics, storage and port infrastructure to strengthen fuel distribution and trade.<\/p>\n
