South Africa&#8217;s first interest rate announcement of 2026 on Thursday, which could be a close call.<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen of 26 analysts polled by Reuters expect the central bank to leave its repo rate unchanged, but eight predict a 25-basis-point rate cut to 6.50% <a data-testid=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/quote\/ZAREPO=ECI\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv
