Burst rivers forced the closure of <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/environment\/flood-damage-south-africas-kruger-park-will-take-years-fix-2026-01-22\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">South Africa&#8217;s Kruger park<\/a>, and will cost millions of dollars to repair.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Data confirms a clear move toward more violent downpours,&#8221; WWA said. &#8220;This effect was compounded by the current La Ni\u00f1a, which naturally brings wetter conditions to this part of the world, but is now operating within a &#8230; more moisture-rich atmosphere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/sustainability\/climate-energy\/us-cpc-sees-75-chance-la-nina-transition-by-early-2026-2026-01-08\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">La Ni\u00f1a<\/a> involves the temporary cooling of temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean.
