Somalia, 5 January 2026 Somalia\u2019s cabinet, today held an extraordinary meeting\u00a0 to discuss the country’s security situation, the recent Banadir elections, and key bilateral agreements on security and maritime transport.<\/p>\n
The cabinet, chaired by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, approved a security cooperation agreement between Somalia and Uganda, focusing on strengthening regional security. Also approved is the agreement between Somalia and Saudi Arabia on maritime cooperation.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the Cabinet approved several legislations and policies, including the following five:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 The Evidence Law: A draft law on the management of evidence within Somalia\u2019s courts.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 International Training and Certification Agreement: An agreement on training and certification for maritime security personnel.<\/p>\n
