{"id":5720,"date":"2026-01-05T19:51:24","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T19:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/5720\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T19:51:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T19:51:24","slug":"family-desperately-searches-for-elsies-river-ou-who-vanished-in-tears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/5720\/","title":{"rendered":"Family desperately searches for Elsies River ou who vanished in tears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE family of Riyaad Adendorf are appealing for information following his mysterious disappearance shortly after leaving his home in Salberau in trane last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Riyaad Adendorf, 24, was reported missing on 2 January after he left his home in Salberau, Elsies River at 10pm.<\/p>\n<p>His sister Celesthea Pierang told the Daily Voice that when he left the house, he was crying.<\/p>\n<p>Pierang explained: \u201cI went to go and visit my sister in Kraaifontein to look after her children because she was working and then I received a message around 4pm to say that Riyaad left the house in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe gave my mommy a hug and he shook his dad\u2019s hand as if he was going to leave and he was crying unconsolably. When he went out the door my mom said to his dad \u2018jy kani laat die kind soe loop nie. Vra die kind waar gaan hy.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis dad followed him and asked him where he was going and Riyaad said \u2018ek gaan gou deur\u2019 thinking that he most probably went to Kraaifontein as his ex-girlfriend lives there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riyaad left his house in his silver Toyota Tazz vehicle, however took none of his belongings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Celesthea added that she had spoken to Riyaad\u2019s ex and said it seemed like they had an argument on New Year\u2019s Eve, however they had broken up for a while and said that he was not there.<\/p>\n<p>The desperate sister also called his work colleagues and friends, who said Riyaad isn\u2019t answering messages, calls and even found that his phone is switched off.<\/p>\n<p>Pierang shared details of his disappearance on Facebook and people reached out saying they spotted him in Chestnut Place and Delft on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cWe spoke to the people in Chestnut Place and they said he is with a guy and then we went to the address but they went there. Then another guy called the guy and said that Riyaad is on his way home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Celesthea said that her brother has still not returned.<\/p>\n<p>The family had opened a missing person case at Elsies River SAPS, however have not received the CAS number yet after going to\u00a0 report him missing on Saturday.
