It brought together senior party officials and elected leaders to discuss the party\u2019s preparedness for internal democratic processes and forthcoming electoral contests.<\/p>\n<p>A major item on the agenda was the party\u2019s grassroots elections, scheduled for January 10, 2026, across 20 counties. <\/p>\n<p>The NEC reviewed logistical, administrative, and mobilisation arrangements to ensure that the exercise is conducted smoothly and transparently.<\/p>\n<p>National Elections Board (NEB) Chairman Anthony Mwaura briefed members on the level of preparedness, highlighting measures to ensure credibility, inclusivity, and adherence to the party\u2019s constitution and electoral guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Further updates were provided by the Directorate of Elections through Deputy Executive Director Higgins Mbugua. <\/p>\n<p>According to a statement issued by the party, Mbugua said:\u00a0\u201cWe have made significant progress in registration ahead of the grassroots elections, and all measures are in place to ensure a credible and inclusive process across the counties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NEC also reviewed progress across counties earmarked for the elections, emphasising the strengthening of grassroots structures as part of the party\u2019s long-term political strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by key party leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, who chairs the UDA Governors Caucus, National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi, National Organising Secretary Vincent Kawaya, and Executive Director Nicodemus Bore.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond internal elections, the NEC discussed by-elections scheduled for February 26, 2026.
