{"id":5889,"date":"2026-01-05T21:49:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T21:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/5889\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T21:49:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T21:49:14","slug":"survivors-speak-claim-driver-ignored-repeated-warnings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/5889\/","title":{"rendered":"Survivors speak, claim driver ignored repeated warnings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/5fe589b0-162f-41eb-a2bb-6d57f98b785c.jpg\" class=\"ui-draggable ui-draggable-handle\" style=\"max-width: 100%; width: 100%;\"\/>Wreckage of the fatal road accident along the Karai\u2013Naivasha&#13;<br \/>\nroad\/HANDOUT<\/p>\n<p>Survivors of the fatal road accident along the&#13;<br \/>\nKarai\u2013Naivasha stretch have claimed that the driver of the vehicle involved was recklessly driving and ignoring repeated pleas from passengers to slow down, as&#13;<br \/>\nauthorities continue investigations into the crash that claimed at least nine&#13;<br \/>\nlives.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from hospital, one survivor who spoke to NTV said&#13;<br \/>\npassengers became increasingly alarmed by the driver\u2019s speed but were unable to&#13;<br \/>\ncompel him to change his driving despite multiple warnings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was reckless driving, and there was no way we could&#13;<br \/>\ncomplain, and he wasn\u2019t listening,\u201d the survivor claimed. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut we thank God even though we have lost one kid.&#13;<br \/>\nPersonally, I\u2019m not okay.
