Credit card copying in some hotels and lodges occurs,\u201d the advisory said.<\/p>\n<p>Travellers were also warned to be cautious when using automated teller machines (ATMs).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe extra vigilant at ATMs, as criminals may attempt to distract you or offer assistance with the aim of stealing your money,\u201d the notice reads.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory also highlighted petty crime as a regular occurrence, especially in popular tourist hotspots.<\/p>\n<p>Canada said offences such as pickpocketing, bag snatching and cellphone theft happen frequently and often target unsuspecting visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s safety advice for travellers<\/p>\n<p>To reduce risk, Canadian travellers were advised to secure personal belongings at all times, including passports and travel documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAvoid showing signs of affluence or wearing expensive jewellery.
