{"id":637,"date":"2026-01-03T15:47:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T15:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/637\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T15:47:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T15:47:10","slug":"ghana-police-deliver-medical-aid-to-south-sudan-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/637\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana police deliver medical aid to South Sudan hospital\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By D.I.\u00a0Laary, GNA\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Accra,\u00a0Jan. 03,\u00a0GNA \u2013\u00a0The Ghana Formed Police Unit One (GHFPU 1), Rotation Nine\u00a0has\u00a0delivered medical supplies and food to\u00a0Bieh\u00a0Community Hospital\u00a0in South Sudan,\u00a0reinforcing community\u00a0cooperation,\u00a0and providing relief during the Christmas season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The outreach, organised under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), was intended to provide immediate medical relief while strengthening relations between peacekeepers and the host community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" data-placeholder-resp=\"1024x683\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517386\"  data-\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517386\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>It was led by the Deputy Field Office Police Coordinator and Acting Field Office Police Coordinator, Madam Anke Lute,\u00a0accompanied by\u00a0Madam Doaa\u00a0Elnagar\u00a0of the FPU Coordination Office in Bentiu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Ghanaian contingent was headed by the Deputy Commanding Officer, Chief Superintendent Rosina Adwoa Donkor Gariba, supported by six senior police officers and\u00a017\u00a0other ranks, including\u00a014\u00a0inspectors.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" data-placeholder-resp=\"1020x768\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517387\"  data-\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517387\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Ghana Formed Police Unit One\u00a0in a statement\u00a0to\u00a0the Ghana News Agency\u00a0said\u00a0that the team\u00a0comprised\u00a0six females and\u00a017\u00a0males and deployed six UNMISS vehicles for the operation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival in\u00a0Bieh,\u00a0it said,\u00a0the team paid a courtesy call on the\u00a0Bieh\u00a0Police Commander, Lt. Col. Abraham\u00a0Dhiesl, and the Community Leader, Mr. Gabriel\u00a0Majang\u00a0Deng, to formally\u00a0notify them\u00a0of the exercise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the gathering, Chief Superintendent Gariba conveyed Christmas goodwill on behalf of the Contingent Commander, Chief Superintendent Bismark Achaab, and underscored the broader purpose of the outreach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" data-placeholder-resp=\"1020x768\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517388\"  data-\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517388\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis exercise reflects our commitment to civil-military cooperation and to standing with communities, especially during moments of need,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Madam Lute reaffirmed UNMISS\u2019s mandate to support communities within its Area of Responsibility.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth and security go hand in hand. We encourage residents to take personal health seriously and to\u00a0maintain\u00a0close cooperation with the police for collective safety,\u201d she noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Medical Team, Superintendent Dr. Agyekum\u00a0Kwabena Ampofo, stressed the importance of solidarity during the festive season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" data-placeholder-resp=\"1020x768\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517389\"  data-\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Social-Police-Support4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-517389\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristmas is a time of sharing.
