{"id":7662,"date":"2026-01-06T17:48:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T17:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/7662\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T17:48:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T17:48:08","slug":"antigua-and-barbuda-receives-zimbabwes-new-ambassador-antigua-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/7662\/","title":{"rendered":"Antigua and Barbuda Receives Zimbabwe\u2019s New Ambassador &#8211; Antigua News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Antigua and Barbuda has formally welcomed Zimbabwe\u2019s newly appointed ambassador, His Excellency Cecil Chinenere, as diplomatic ties between the two countries continue to advance.<\/p>\n<p>According to State Media, the ambassador presented his credentials to Governor General\u2019s Deputy Sir Clare Roberts during a ceremony held on Tuesday, followed by high-level discussions with government officials.<\/p>\n<p>Talks with Foreign Affairs Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/antigua.news\/2026\/01\/01\/e-p-chet-greene-rings-in-2026-with-bold-youth-first-agenda-for-st-paul\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">E. P. Chet Greene<\/a> focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, with proposed agreements in areas including agriculture, health, technology and information sharing. These initiatives could be finalised later this year.<\/p>\n<p>During the engagements, Ambassador Chinenere also informed officials that Zimbabwe has nominated a candidate for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2027\u20132028 term and requested Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s consideration.
