HAVANA, Cuba, January 6 (ACN) The Cuban State Mission in Zimbabwe paid today a heartfelt tribute of honor and glory to the 32 Cuban combatants who confronted the United States military aggression against Venezuela in the early hours of last Saturday.<\/p>\n
The tribute took place on the street and at the monument named after the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, in Harare, the capital of the African nation, where diplomats and members of the Medical Brigade praised the bravery of their compatriots who fell in the line of duty.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Susellys P\u00e9rez Mesa reiterated the condemnation of the aggression against Venezuela, which she described as illegal and a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, and stressed the need to preserve international and regional peace.<\/p>\n
P\u00e9rez Mesa emphasized that Washington is attempting to reimpose the Monroe Doctrine through military force and reaffirmed the Mission’s commitment to the Homeland, inspired by the legacy of the heroes and martyrs of the Revolution.<\/p>\n
Following the reading of the Revolutionary Government’s statement by Minister-Counselor Luis Enrique Gonz\u00e1lez Acosta and a minute of silence, Dr. Mar\u00eda Eugenia Garc\u00eda, head of the Medical Brigade, ratified the health contingent’s readiness to fulfill its responsibilities in Zimbabwe and wherever the Revolution requires.<\/p>\n
Garc\u00eda maintained that the attack on Venezuela also constitutes an aggression against Latin America and Humanity, and called for preventing the defilement of the peace achieved by the people.<\/p>\n
The 32 combatants were carrying out missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of their Venezuelan counterparts.<\/p>\n
