Photo\/Courtesy.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" data-v-7257c9c5=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/tts-pre-loader.gif\" alt=\"Vocalize Pre-Player Loader\" style=\"all:unset!important;display:inline!important;\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-7257c9c5=\"\" style=\"font-size:13px;margin-left:20px;\">Audio By Vocalize<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The<br \/>\nNational Olympic Committee of Kenya and the Japanese Olympic Committee have<br \/>\nsigned a landmark cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening athlete<br \/>\ndevelopment, coaching, and high performance sport systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The<br \/>\nagreement signed on the of February 19, seeks to give Kenyan athletes access to<br \/>\nJapan&#8217;s advanced coaching structures, elite academy programmes, and sports<br \/>\nscience expertise, while offering Japanese sports officials the chance to learn<br \/>\nfrom Kenya&#8217;s world renowned altitude training and endurance programmes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Officials<br \/>\nsay the partnership is designed to create sustainable systems that support<br \/>\nathletes year round, rather than focusing on isolated Olympic cycles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The<br \/>\nsigning took place in Milano, Italy, at Japan House during the Milano Cortina<br \/>\n2026 Winter Olympics. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">NOC-K<br \/>\npresident Shadrack Maluki and JOC president Seiko Hashimoto led the ceremony,<br \/>\ndescribing the MoU as a forward looking alliance grounded in mutual respect,<br \/>\nshared values, and a commitment to sporting excellence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Under<br \/>\nthis agreement, athletes will take part in exchange programmes allowing them to<br \/>\ntrain in both countries, while coaches will benefit from mentorship, technical<br \/>\nclinics, and structured learning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Sports<br \/>\nadministrators are also set to gain leadership and governance training to strengthen<br \/>\nnational systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The<br \/>\npartnership will also connect Kenya to Japanese sports science and medical<br \/>\nresearch institutions to improve athlete welfare, injury prevention,<br \/>\nconditioning, and performance tracking. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Talent<br \/>\nidentification programmes and clear development pathways are key components, aiming<br \/>\nto ensure young athletes progress smoothly from junior to elite levels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Implementation<br \/>\nbegins immediately, with a joint technical team set up to coordinate timelines,<br \/>\nresources, and measurable outcomes.
