PHOTO | COURTESY<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" data-v-7257c9c5=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/tts-pre-loader.gif\" alt=\"Vocalize Pre-Player Loader\" style=\"all:unset!important;display:inline!important;\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-7257c9c5=\"\" style=\"font-size:13px;margin-left:20px;\">Audio By Vocalize<\/p>\n<p>The United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) is preparing to hold what could<br \/>\nbe one of the largest<br \/>\ngrassroots party elections in<br \/>\nthe country this Saturday, with significant participation expected<br \/>\nacross the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"652\">According to official party data, 310,651<br \/>\ncandidates have registered to contest various grassroots positions in 20 counties,<br \/>\nexceeding the 237,940 party offices available. The exercise will take place in<br \/>\n12,000 polling centres nationwide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"763\">An estimated three million UDA members are<br \/>\nexpected to vote, averaging about 250 voters per polling centre.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"1093\">The Mt Kenya region has emerged as a major<br \/>\nfocus for the elections, with several counties reporting high candidate<br \/>\nnumbers. Meru County leads with 35,343 candidates against an initial projection<br \/>\nof 21,000. Kiambu registered 21,000 candidates, Murang\u2019a 20,880, Nyandarua<br \/>\n18,665, Nyeri 16,448, Kirinyaga 14,000, and Embu 15,881.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1341\">In the Rift Valley, Nakuru County recorded<br \/>\n30,010 candidates, Laikipia 2,958, and Bomet 25,350.
