The knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico are now underway. Following the German national team’s exit, the tournament is also over for the Ivory Coast.

The shock came just before the final whistle when the Ivory Coast conceded in the 86th minute to go down 1-2 against Norway in the round of 32, meaning they were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Bazoumana Touré of TSG Hoffenheim came on as a substitute in stoppage time but was unable to prevent the defeat.

Norway took the lead shortly before half-time through Antonio Nusa (39), with Amad’s equaliser (74) restoring hope, but Erling Haaland sealed the win for Norway with a late goal.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Haris Tabaković will face the hosts, the USA, with Bosnia and Herzegovina at 02:00 CEST.
