Zus\u00e4tzlich sei bereits ein Fall in der weit entfernten Hauptstadt Kinshasa nachgewiesen worden. Zudem seien zwei infizierte Personen aus dem Kongo nach Uganda gereist. Die WHO berichtete von bislang 80 mutma\u00dflichen Ebola-Todesf\u00e4llen in Ituri. Einer der reisenden Personen sei ebenfalls verstorben.<\/p>\n<p>WHO: Ausbruch k\u00f6nnte viel gr\u00f6\u00dfer sein als bekannt<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Der ansteigende Trend von Verdachts- und Todesf\u00e4llen in Ituri weise darauf hin, &#8222;dass der Ausbruch m\u00f6glicherweise viel gr\u00f6\u00dfer ist als bislang entdeckt und berichtet&#8220;, hie\u00df es von der WHO. Deshalb bestehe ein betr\u00e4chtliches Risiko f\u00fcr eine lokale und regionale Ausbreitung des Virus. Die Provinz Ituri grenzt auch an den S\u00fcdsudan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Zus\u00e4tzlich habe man es in dem am meisten betroffenen Gebiet mit einer fragilen Sicherheitslage, einer humanit\u00e4ren Krise und starken Bev\u00f6lkerungsbewegungen zu tun. Deshalb handle es sich um ein &#8222;au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliches Ereignis&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Allerdings hat die Bundibugyo-Variante nach Angaben des US-amerikanischen Gesundheitsinstitutes NIH eine niedrigere Sterblichkeitsrate von etwa 37 Prozent als der Zaire-Stamm mit bis zu 90 Prozent. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Es handelt sich um den insgesamt 17. Ebola-Ausbruch in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo seit 1976. Nur zweimal zuvor hat es laut der afrikanischen Gesundheitsbeh\u00f6rde Africa CDC Ausbr\u00fcche der Bundibugyo-Variante gegeben: im Jahr 2007 in Uganda mit 37 Toten sowie 2012 im Kongo mit 29 Todesf\u00e4llen.<\/p>\n<p>Lebensbedrohliche Infektionskrankheit<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-18 leading-17 user-text-lg:text-22 user-text-xl:text-24\">Ebola ist eine ansteckende und lebensbedrohliche Infektionskrankheit. Das Virus wird durch K\u00f6rperkontakt und Kontakt mit K\u00f6rperfl\u00fcssigkeiten \u00fcbertragen. In den Jahren 2014 und 2015 waren bei einem Ausbruch der Zaire-Variante in Westafrika mehr als 11.000 Menschen gestorben.
