Opernkonzert in Johannesburg am 28.August 2026<\/p>\n

Fruehlingsbeginn ( wir sind eben in der Suedhalbkugel!)\u00a0 in Johannesburg\u00a0 ist einer von vielen guten Gruenden ein Opernkonzert mit schoenen Saengern und bluehenden Melodien zu organisieren. So hat SITTOPERA\u00a0 zwei ausserordentliche, junge Sopranistinnen \u201czusammengespannt\u201d ; eher \u2018zufaellig\u2019 als da beide zur selben Zeit am selben Ort\u00a0 verfuegbar waren. Yolisa Ngwexana ist ein 33 Jahre junger lyrischer Koloratursporan, die an der Nordwest-Universitaet von Professor Conroy Cupido excellent ausgebildet wurde und bereits als Gilda 2022 in Grossbrittanien mit der Opera North Company\u00a0 international reuessierte. 2024 absolvierte sie ein \u2018postgraduate\u2019bei Guildhall Artists\u00a0 in London mit Auszeichnung . Letztes Jahr erschien sie beachtenswert als Clorinda in Rossini\u2019s \u201cLa Cenerentola\u201d und ist jetzt schon wieder nach Europa unterwegs wo sie spaeter, ab Juli 2027\u00a0 als Desdemona, beginnend in Belgien mehrmals auftreten wird\u00a0\u00a0 auftreten wird. Fuer SITTOPERA\u00a0 ist sie bereits dreimal aufgetreten. Sasa Yende ist bluehende 29 Jahre jung, ein lyrischer Sopran\u00a0 und eine Cousine des Weltstars Pretty Yende und deren\u00a0 Schwester Nombulelo \u2013 die bereits vor Jahren fuer SITTOPERA auftrat \u2013\u00a0 , die ebenfalls seit Jahren erfolgreich in Deutschland und international taetig ist und verwandt mit Nonhlanhla Yende, die 2025 eine sehr ueberzeugende Amneris\u00a0 in einer AIDA Produktion der Oper Kapstadt war . Sie ist bereits letztes Jahr in einem Solokonzert fuer SITTOPERA aufgetreten , ebenfalls\u00a0 akademisch bestens ausgebildet und macht das \u201cYende Opernkleeblatt \u201c wuerdig\u00a0 komplett.<\/p>\n
Der Inanda Club ist der edelste aller Clubs in Johannesburg der vor allem equestrisch fuer Polospiel und Fuchsjagd bekannt ist und auf dessen grossraeumigen Gelaende im noblem Illovo man oft dle Pferde sich tummeln sieht. Ein elegantes und auch akustisch feines Ambiente indem sich ein gediegenes Opernkonzert\u00a0 sehr schoen organisieren laesst.<\/p>\n
Das Konzert umfasste 16 Arien, Duette und Lieder und dauerte ungefahr\u00a0 1 3\/4 Stunden aber dennoch sah niemand im Publikum jemals auf die Uhr. Dier musikalische Reise fuehrte nach Indien, Boehmen, mehrmals nach Paris, Italien, Spanien, England ,die USA und\u00a0 das Zululand. Ja, die Opernwelt ist auch geographisch grosz und weit. Das Konzert begann\u00a0 mit dem \u201cBlumenduet\u201daus Lakme. Es folgte Rusalkas \u201cLied an den Mond\u201d, dargebracht von Yolisa , Adriana Lecouvreur\u2019s Arie \u201cLo son\u00a0 l \u2018umile ancella\u2019 , praesentiert von Sasa, Musette\u2019s\u00a0 Lied und Walzer, dargebracht von Yolisa, die praechtige barocke Konzertarie \u201cIl mio bel foco\u2019; Sasa zu schoenen improvisierenden melodieoesen Ausschmueckungen\u00a0 einladend und sodann Mozart\u2019s \u201cSull\u2019aria\u201d , das kleine feine Duet Graefin \u2013 Susanna praesentiert von Yolisa und Sasa\u00a0 .Nach einer kleinen Pause trat Yolisa mit Rosina\u2019s Arie \u201cUna voce poco fa\u201d auf.Es folgte Sasa mit Elviras Arie und Wahnsinnsszene aus \u201cIl Puritani\u201d. Musikalisch ein weiter Sprung zu Edith Piaf\u2019s \u201c\u201d La vie en rose\u2019, interpretiert von Yolisa.\u00a0 Dann sang Sasa die Arie \u201cTrees in the mountain\u2019aus Carlisle Floyd\u2019s 1955 uraufgefuehrter Oper \u2018Susanne\u2019. Es folgte das Duet \u2018Mira, o Norma\u201d\u00a0 mit Yolisa als Norma und Sasa als Adalgisa. Zurueck in die USA mit dem Lied der Desiree \u201cSend in the Clowns\u2019 aus Stephen Sondheim\u2019s Musical \u201cA little night music\u201d gesungen von Yolisa . Sasa, aus einer koeniglichen Rang geniessenden Zulufamilie stammend, praesentierte dann unter dem Titel \u201cNgibonisele\u201dzusammengefassten Lieder des Komponisten und Tenors Mhlaba Buthelezi . Es folgte\u00a0 Magda\u2019s Arie \u201cChi il bel sogno di Doretta\u2019aus Puccini\u2019s\u00a0 \u2018La Rondine\u2019, die von beiden Saengerinnen praesentiert wurde. Volkstuemlich wurde es mit \u201cO sole mio\u2019ebenfalls als Duett vorgetragen. Als wohlverdiente Zugabe praesentierten Yolisa und Sasa gemeinsam Violeta\u2019s Arie \u201cSempre libera\u201d .<\/p>\n
Ein \u2013 auch fuer das Publikum \u2013 anspruchsvolles, ein breites musikalisches Spektrum umfassendes Programm das von beiden Saengerinnen\u00a0 souveraen absolviert wurde.Yolisa Ngwexana\u00a0\u00a0 hat eine im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes brilliante Stimme, sicher in allen Stimmlagen. Ihre Spitzentoene in der Rosina -Arie waren blendend und scheinbar muehelos gesetzt\u00a0 , sie tritt souveraen auf und besticht durch eine voluminoese aber immer fein dosierte Stimme, sehr gutes Spiel und eine charmante und elegante Ausstrahlung. Auch ihre Interpretation des Edith Piaf Liedes \u2013 keine leichte Sache fuer einen Sopran\u00a0 ! \u2013 war einfach ueberzeugend.Es ist zu hoffen, dasz ihr nunmehr mit der Desdemona der definitive internationale Durchbruch gelingt .Das waere verdient fuer eine der besten juengeren Sopranostimmen Suedafrikas. Sasa Yende besitzt eine vorzuegliche, schoene, volle und samtene lyrische Stimme, gerade auch in den tiefen Lagen \u2013 so manche Mezzorolle kann man ihr durchaus\u00a0 anvertrauen \u2013 sicher und geschmeidig toenend.\u00a0 Von der barocken Konzertarie bis hin zur modernen nordamerikanischen Oper hat sie ohne wenn und aber, stimmlich wie im Spiel und Praesenz,\u00a0 ueberzeugt. Nicht \u2018nur \u201c Opernstuecke\u00a0 sondern auch alle Arten von Liedern \u2013 klassisch wie traditionelle \u2013 sind bei ihr in guten Haenden ( oder in ihren Stimmbaendern) .Sie ist wuerdig des Yende-Namens und auch ihr\u00a0 seien internationale Engagements und Beachtung\u00a0 vergoennt.<\/p>\n
Das sehr zahlreich erschienene Publikum war begeistert und spendete sehr viel Applaus, viele Bravo Rufe und eine wohlverdiente \u2018standing ovation\u2019 und noch einmal langanhaltender Applaus nach der Zugabe.<\/p>\n
Aber nicht nur solo sondern gerade als Duo ueberzeugten beide Damen, die bestens miteinander \u2013 stimmlich wie im Zusammenspiel \u2013 harmonierten. Es koennte\u00a0 eine gute Idee sein, sie\u00a0 regelmaessig als Duo auftreten zu lassen. Internationale Konzertveranstalter wuerden mit\u00a0\u00a0 diesem Duo nach dem Motto:\u00a0 \u2018 Ein Brilliant & ein Rubin\u201d einen sehr guten Griff tun.<\/p>\n
Laetitia Orlandi ist eine der fuehrenden Konzertpianistinnen Suedafrikas, die immer wieder gerne bei SITTOPERA Konzerten begleitet. Einfuehlsam und sicher begleitete sie durch das auch fuer sie anspruchsvolle und abwechslungsreiche Programm.<\/p>\n
Harald\u00a0 Sitta als \u201cMaster of ceremony\u201d fuehrte humorvoll und schwunghaft durch das Programm. Das Ambiente des Glashauses des Inanda Clubs, von dem man einen wundervollen Blick auf das Reitgelaende hat, ist gediegen und elegant; die Akustik des an und fuer sich modernen Gebaeudes hervorragend\u00a0 .Gastfreundlich lud der Konzertveranstalter auch zu einem Glas Wein als Willkommenstrunk ein. Alles in allem, ein edler Abend und dieses Konzert waere auch in Europa, Japan\u00a0 oder Nordamerika unter die Top 10 Prozent einzureihen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A fabulous duo on a fantastic journey <\/p>\n
Operatic concert in Johannesburg 28th of August <\/p>\n
\u00a0The beginning of springtime\u00a0 in Johannesburg\u00a0 is one of many good reasons tom organize one operatic concert with fine singers and flowering melodies. Therefore\u00a0 SITTOPERA\u00a0 put together tow exceptional, young sopranos; rather accidentally as both had been available at the same time at the same place.\u00a0 Yolisa Ngwexana is on 33 years young lyric coloratura soprano who was excellently trained at the North-West University by professor\u00a0 Conroy Cupido and already\u00a0 convinced as Gilda 2022 in Great Britain with the Opera North Company. 2024 she finished with distinction a\u00a0 \u2018postgraduate\u2019 at Guildhall Artists\u00a0 in London. Last year she was noted as\u00a0 Clorinda in Rossini\u2019s \u201cLa Cenerentola\u201d and now again on her way to Europe where she will later , from July 2027 on, repeatedly\u00a0 appear as Desdemona, starting in Belgium.\u00a0 Sasa Yende is one flourishing, 29 years young lyric soprano and a cousin of world star\u00a0 Pretty Yende and their sister\u00a0 Nombulelo \u2013 who some years ago appeared for SITTOPERA\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 , who is also since years active successfully in Germany and internationally and related to Nonhlanhla Yende, who was 2025 one very convincing\u00a0 Amneris\u00a0 in one AIDA production of Cape Town Opera. She already appeared last year in a solo concert for\u00a0 SITTOPERA and is also excellently trained academically. She completes in a worthy way the \u201cYende opera trefoil\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Inanda Club is the finest of all\u00a0 Clubs in Johannesburg which especially horseman-like is renowned for polo playing and fox hunting and on whose large lawns in noble Illovo one\u00a0 may see\u00a0 often horses put in motion. One elegant and also acoustically decent ambient within which a sterling operatic concert may be well organized.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The concert encompassed sixteen arias, duets and songs and lasted nearly two hours but nevertheless no one in the audience looked at his wrist-watch.\u00a0 The musical journey did guide us to India, Bohemia, again at again to Paris, Italy, Spain, England the\u00a0 USA and\u00a0 Zululand. Yes, the opera world also geographical is broad and wide. The concert started with the \u201cFlowerduet\u201dfrom Lakme. Then followed Rusalkas \u201c Song to the moon\u201d, presented by Yolisa , Adriana Lecouvreur\u2019s aria \u201cLo son\u00a0 l \u2018umile ancella\u2019 , presented by\u00a0 Sasa, Musette\u2019s\u00a0 song and waltz served by Yolisa, the glorious baroque concert aria \u201cIl mio bel foco\u2019 inviting Sasa to improvised melodious ornaments and then Mozart\u2019s \u201cSull\u2019aria\u201d , this small, fine and superb little duet of Countess\u00a0 \u2013 Susanna presented by Yolisa and Sasa\u00a0 .After a short break\u00a0 Yolisa entered with Rosina\u2019s aria \u201cUna voce poco fa\u201d . Then followed\u00a0 Sasa with mit Elvira\u2019s aria and madness scene from\u00a0 \u201cIl Puritani\u201d. Musically a very\u00a0 wide jump to\u00a0 Edith Piaf\u2019s \u201c La vie en rose\u2019, presented by Yolisa.\u00a0\u00a0 Sasa then performed the aria\u00a0 \u201cTrees in the mountain\u2019 from Carlisle Floyd\u2019s opera\u00a0 \u2018Susanne\u2019 first performed in 1955. Following\u00a0 it did the duet \u2018Mira, o Norma\u201d\u00a0 with Yolisa ls Norma and Sasa as Adalgisa. Back to the USA with Desiree\u2019s song\u00a0 \u201cSend in the Clowns\u2019 from Stephen Sondheim\u2019s musical \u201cA little night music\u201d sung by Yolisa . Sasa, cominjg from a Zulu family enjoying Royal rank then presented songs combined under the title\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cNgibonisele\u201d by the composer and tenor Mhlaba Buthelezi . Then followed\u00a0 Magda\u2019s aria \u201cChi il bel sogno di Doretta\u2019 from\u00a0 Puccini\u2019s\u00a0 \u2018La Rondine\u2019, which was presented by both singers. Very populkar it became with\u00a0 \u201cO sole mio\u2019, also sung in duet. As a well earned encore Yolisa and Sasa presented together Violeta\u2019s aria\u00a0 \u201cSempre libera\u201d .<\/p>\n
One \u2013 also for the audience \u2013 quite demanding program encompassing a broad musical spectre which was performed by both singers in a sovereign way. Yolisa Ngwexana\u00a0\u00a0 possesses one truly brilliant voice, secure in all highs and lows. Her top tunes in Rosina\u2019s aria had been stunning and seemingly without effort.She appears in a sovereign way and impresses by a voluminous but always elegantly set voice.Her play is excellent and she possesses a charming and elegance appearance. \u00a0Also her interpretation of\u00a0 Edith Piaf\u2019s song \u2013 not an\u00a0 easy thing for a soprano \u2013 was simply convincing. We may hope that with\u00a0 her performing Desdemona she will achieve the definite international break through.That would be well earned for one of the best younger soprano voices of South Africa.\u00a0 Sasa Yende possesses an excellent, beautiful, full and velvet lyric voice which especially in the deep tunes \u2013 some Mezzo roles you\u00a0 may safely entrust to her \u2013\u00a0 sounds safe and elastic. From the baroque concert aria up to\u00a0 modern Northern-American opera she convinced without if\u2019s and when\u2019s both in voice and play. Not \u201conly\u2019 operas pieces but also all kind of songs \u2013 from classic to traditional \u2013 are with her in safe hands or save in her vocal chord.\u00a0 She is worthy the name of Yende and hopefully also international engagements and attention shall be delivered to her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The audience, which appeared in strong numbers, was excited and dedicated a lot of applause, a lot of \u2018bravo\u2019 shouts and one well earned \u2018standing ovation\u2019 and once again a long keeping applause after the encore.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But not only in solo but definitely as a duo both ladies convinced who harmonized which each other excellently, both in voice and in play. It could be a good idea to have them appear regularly as a duo. International concert organizers would make a very fine deal with this duo \u201cone being a brilliant and one a ruby\u201d .<\/p>\n
Laetitia Orlandi is one of the leading concert pianists of South Africa who since years gladly appears for SITTOPERA as accompanist. In a sensitive and secure way she accompanied both singers through this , also for her demanding program.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As MC Harald\u00a0 Sitta guided the audience in a humorous and vivid way\u00a0 through the program. The ambient of the Inanda Club building, from which one has a wonderful view over the polo lawn is noble and elegant.\u00a0 The acoustics of\u00a0 this modern building is excellent. As a friendly host the impresario invited to a glass of wine as welcome drink. All in all , a real excellent, well spent evening and this concert as it was would also be rated in\u00a0 Europe, Japan\u00a0 or North America among the top 10 percent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
And by the way \u2026 as the Springboks\u00a0 did beat the \u201cAll Blacks\u2019 in a most elegant and powerful way on the next day it was a quite perfect weekend \u2026<\/p>\n
