Google recently announced that it was bringing several new AI features for users in the Asia-Pacific region, which will be available for both desktop and iOS devices. The company has been expanding the roll-out of its Gemini and AI services lately, which are now gradually arriving for devices and users worldwide.
In this instance though, Google says that Chrome’s new AI tools will now be available in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. This includes AI-powered web browsing summaries, integration with Google services like Calendar, Gmail and Maps, as well as Personal Intelligence and Nano Banana support. Google says that it’s also beefed up security for the roll-out, stating:
Our models are trained to recognize known threats, like prompt injection, and include safeguards to ask for confirmation before completing sensitive actions.
In other recent Google news, the company also confirmed the arrival of new facial image touch-up tools, which are found in Google Photos’ editor function. The tools are designed to give users the option of removing small imperfections in photographs via new software tricks, and includes heal, smooth, under eyes, irises, teeth, eyebrows or lips. Users can also change the intensity of the effects to fine-tune their look in the photo.
