A new Reflect dashboard shows how users engage with Claude and tracks recurring tasks to reveal usage patterns. It nudges users toward mindful habits provides quiet hours and reminders and excludes sensitive health integrations from analytics to protect privacy.
During a time when criticism of artificial intelligence and protests against data centers frequently appear in headlines, Claude from Anthropic is introducing a new feature that quietly underscores the benefits of continuing to use the service.
On Thursday the company unveiled Reflect – an embedded panel that lets you track and visualize how you use Claude and your overall interactions with AI. On the surface it’s an analytics feature that provides insights into topics of discussion, your usage patterns, and the tasks for which you turn to AI.
But the broader aim of Reflect is to shape users’ perception of AI as a productivity-boosting tool and as part of the everyday workflow, as well as a technology that can be used consciously.
Even though Reflect doesn’t provide a direct tally of the time you spend switching to other workflows with AI, simply having everything Claude has helped with in front of you can make it a more familiar and dependable everyday tool.
Currently Anthropic encourages users to critically consider AI usage; Reflect will sometimes pose questions, for example:
Which one thing would you like to keep doing yourself, even if Claude could do it faster?

How Reflect Works and What Benefits It Can Bring
Reflect also includes tools to set quiet hours or scheduled reminders to take a break from interacting with AI – in this, Anthropic highlights a possible dependence on chatbots that constantly respond and nudge you to continue the conversation.
The idea of adding analytics to an app to unobtrusively shape consumer thinking isn’t new. For example, in 2012 Google launched Gmail Meter, which turned your inbox into a set of numbers and charts, demonstrating how central Gmail had become to users’ digital lives.
Claude Reflect does something similar, but at the same time teaches users to use AI more effectively. For example, Reflect might suggest that instead of repeating context during repetitive tasks, you should use Claude’s Projects feature. For Anthropic this has advantages in terms of deeper integration of daily workflows with Claude, helping to retain users and reduce the likelihood of switching to competitors.
Data Security and Privacy
Anthropic notes that Reflect may display more sensitive conversations at a high level, but data related to integrations with health services are excluded from analysis. All analytics data is not used for other purposes.
The Claude Reflect feature is available in beta to Free, Pro, and Max users with memory enabled; later it will expand to show Claude usage time as well.
Prospects for Users and for Anthropic
Adding Reflect to the Claude ecosystem signals a trend of turning AI into part of the everyday workflow with a focus on control, transparency, and conscious use. Such tools can support productivity and reduce the risk of switching to competitors, but they also raise questions about privacy and data-use limitations.
