OpenAI, an American AI startup, unveiled a new AI agent to compete with Anthropic in the field of artificial intelligence.
The new product, named ChatGPT Work, combines OpenAI’s popular chatbot with the Codex tool to simplify the creation of documents, presentations, and websites.

The new agent is based on the latest AI model GPT-5.6, which the company also unveiled recently.
The company released three different sizes of this 5.6 model.
The launch of this model was postponed last month at the request of the U.S. government due to national security concerns.
ChatGPT Work is a direct response to Claude Cowork from Anthropic, an agent launched in January capable of autonomously planning and carrying out multi-step tasks.
Both ChatGPT Work and Claude Cowork are designed for non-programmers who want to leverage AI-powered coding tools that are often more powerful than standard chatbots but require specialized knowledge.
OpenAI said the new products would be cheaper and more widely accessible than competitors.
Among other things, the company announced a desktop ChatGPT app and a feature that will allow users to create and share websites directly through ChatGPT Work.
