Nearly a year ago at this point, Google introduced a brilliant new workflow: the ability to automatically transform a static Google Slides presentation into a dynamic, fully-fledged video using the new Google Vids app. By leveraging Gemini AI, the tool can generate scripts, add voiceovers, insert background music, and apply animations to your decks with just a few clicks.

However, at launch, this massive productivity booster was limited strictly to English. Thankfully, that limitation is officially being lifted. According to a recent announcement on the Workspace Updates blog, Google is significantly expanding the language model capabilities inside Google Vids. The AI-powered presentation-to-video feature now officially supports seven additional languages:

French

German

Italian

Japanese

Korean

Portuguese

Spanish

This is a massive win for international teams, educators, and global businesses. If you have an existing slide deck localized in any of these languages, you can now seamlessly convert it into a professional, narrated video asset without needing a third-party translation or dubbing service.

Rollout timeline and account eligibility

Because this is a server-side update to the core Vids engine, there are no administrative controls or settings to toggle. The feature is simply turning on in the background.

If your Google Workspace domain is on the Rapid Release track, the rollout actually began back on June 30, 2026, meaning you might already have access right now. For organizations on the Scheduled Release track, the full rollout is slated to begin next week on July 20, 2026.

As for eligibility, this language expansion covers a wide net of users. It is available to most Business and Enterprise tiers (Starter, Standard, and Plus), Education Plus accounts, and standard consumer accounts subscribed to either Google AI Pro or Ultra.
