Does humanity need AI?
The possibility of constructing unreality is a dangerous way to control the future. The current race to control what AI is used for demonstrates the fear that others have for its purpose in any arena of human endeavor.
Undoing the workings of decades of interconnected systems is a different kind of weapon. It has the power to destroy any nation’s infrastructure by infiltrating operational necessities that track records for its citizens. Rebuilding such networks could be impossible. In effect, all identities of a whole nation could be erased or stolen for use by other entities. If all these data warehouses are built, they immediately become targets.
I wouldn’t want one in my backyard. The interest in destroying a nation’s data centers will require unimaginable security. If the power needed to run these centers become the primary target of enemies of a nation, a defensive posture of all sites would require a new domestic defense force.
Why not let other nations have the chips and we keep them on the defensive? AI is a dangerous notion to global welfare in so many ways. It is now a novelty but has the potential to destroy functionality for all humanity. Have a pleasant day.
