AWS’ Rudra Mitra on Prioritizing Vulnerabilities at Machine Speed

Frontier artificial intelligence models are flooding security teams with more vulnerabilities than they can fix. The solution is applying that same AI power to prioritize, fix and validate what matters most, said Rudra Mitra, vice president of security services at Amazon Web Services.

Mitra said the biggest gain comes from using enterprise context, such as identity, data sensitivity and attack history, to narrow a list of 1,000 theoretical vulnerabilities down to the ones attackers could realistically exploit.

“Machine speed response has to take you from being in a vulnerable state to closing the loop, and being able to graduate trust from ‘we’re in a vulnerable state’ to ‘we’ve got it,’ to something we feel we have high trust in,” he said.
