Just two weeks after causing a buzz in a playful Hyundai commercial where a mock “leadership change” confusion ended with SRK receiving the keys to Hyundai’s new all-electric SUV, he is making headlines again. This time, Khan is fronting Google Gemini’s brand campaign for India.
Unlike traditional tech commercials, the new Google Gemini ads place SRK in intimate, relatable domestic and neighborhood settings- whether lounging on a couch or visiting a traditional local shop. The spots highlight the power of Gemini Live, demonstrating how conversational AI can solve real-world everyday challenges.
In the first film, Gemini Live guides a woman in transforming years of classic Kathak dance training into a successful home-based dance academy, fostering financial independence. The second one helps a traditional shopkeeper revamp classic products for younger audiences, making the brand trend on social media.
The campaign leans heavily into Shah Rukh Khan’s signature charm, warmth, and motivational dialogue style- punctuated by inspiring lines like “Mat kaho kharab hai takdeer, khud kheencho na kismat ki lakeer” and “Us kamyabi ka alag hi rang hota hai jisme apno ka sang hota hai”.
Accompanied by the nostalgic classic background score “Mil gaya humko saathi,” the film feels less like a product endorsement and more like a movie scene aimed at demystifying artificial intelligence for mainstream India.
To amplify the launch, Google rolled out massive outdoor takeovers across major landmarks in Mumbai, prominently featuring SRK and Gemini across the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
This campaign marks a major step forward from Gemini’s previous ad push- a series of nine 20-second short films that demonstrated practical micro-use cases like exam preparation, office workflows, and everyday problem-solving.
By pairing SRK’s emotional connection with real-world utility, Google aims to drive widespread adoption, positioning AI not as complex technology, but as a friendly, accessible companion for every Indian household.
