New Delhi: Google India on Monday launched a campaign for Gemini featuring Shah Rukh Khan, with the communication focusing on the AI assistant’s multilingual capabilities for users across India.
The campaign was conceptualised and written by Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, Omnicom Advertising India, and developed by Google with McCann India and Nirvana Films.
According to the campaign note, while awareness of artificial intelligence was growing in India, everyday usage remained concentrated among English-speaking users in metro cities. It cited around 470 million internet users across Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, where language could remain a barrier to using digital tools with confidence.
The films positioned Gemini as a conversational assistant that could respond in users’ preferred languages and help them work through everyday questions and decisions.
The communication was built around situations where people sought help or reassurance while dealing with uncertainty. Rather than focusing primarily on the technology behind Gemini, the campaign placed the product within everyday interactions.
Shekar Khosla, Vice President, Marketing, Google India, said, “Technology truly weaves its magic when it stops being just a tool and starts becoming a companion in life’s everyday moments. With Google Gemini, we aren’t just bridging the gap between aspiration and achievement; we are speaking to the very heart of India in our own languages, our own emotions, and our own comfort zones. It’s been wonderful working with Shah Rukh Khan and Prasoon to help bring this vision to life, and we hope it becomes the fuel for your daily wins, unlocking new ideas and possibilities in every moment.”
The campaign also highlighted Gemini’s ability to work across text, video, speech and images, while the films concentrated on conversational and multilingual use cases.
Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, Omnicom Advertising India, said, “These aren’t just slice-of-life stories. They come from moments that have stayed with me, and I hope they resonate with audiences. At their core, these stories are about connection, how we reach out, understand, and navigate moments of uncertainty. With Google Gemini, we explored how technology can support that process quietly, not by standing out, but by blending into everyday life.”
The films were directed by Prakash Verma. Shah Rukh Khan appeared across the stories as the campaign sought to present Gemini as an everyday conversational companion rather than a conventional technology product.
The campaign closed with the line, “Ab Dost Hai Saath, Khul Ke Karo Baat”, linking the communication to the idea of using Gemini as a conversational support tool.
