OpenAI has introduced a new premium tier for ChatGPT Business, priced at $125 per user per month or $100 per user per month with annual billing.
The company announced the update on its website, positioning the premium seats as a solution for enterprises requiring enhanced capabilities, including advanced admin controls, dedicated support, and expanded usage limits, Roic.ai reported.
“The premium seats are designed for organizations that need more from their AI tools,” said a spokesperson for OpenAI, who declined to provide additional specifics. The standard ChatGPT Business tier remains available at roughly $25 per user per month with monthly billing, or $20 with annual commitment, according to the company’s public pricing pages.
The introduction of a higher-priced tier comes as OpenAI faces mounting pressure from competitors like Anthropic, Google, and Microsoft, all of which have been adjusting their enterprise offerings. “We’re seeing a race to capture the enterprise market, with players experimenting with pricing and features,” said Sarah Johnson, an analyst at TechMarket Insights. The premium seats could help OpenAI differentiate its product, offering a higher-value option for companies with complex needs.
