Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched TCS ADD™ AgentHub, an enterprise-ready agentic AI platform designed to help pharmaceutical companies scale artificial intelligence across the drug development and drug safety value chain. The platform is aimed at enabling AI adoption in highly regulated environments while maintaining governance, oversight and auditability.
Pharmaceutical companies are increasingly dealing with growing data volumes, fragmented systems and rising regulatory expectations across clinical development and pharmacovigilance. TCS said AgentHub addresses these challenges by allowing AI agents to operate with defined roles, human oversight and built-in audit trails.
AI Enters Drug Development
Built on the TCS ADD™ framework, the platform allows pharmaceutical companies to customise their AI agent hubs and deploy them across clinical workflows with minimal integration and implementation effort. The company said this approach can support a gradual expansion of AI adoption while maintaining regulatory compliance. TCS said solutions powered by the platform have demonstrated up to 40 per cent efficiency gains in clinical data management activities and up to 30 per cent reduction in clinical study build efforts through metadata-driven automation.
The platform has also delivered up to 30 per cent cost savings in end-to-end safety case processing, while AI-powered safety agents can reduce quality-control efforts by as much as 50 per cent. Debashis Ghosh, President, Lifesciences and Healthcare, TCS, said, “TCS ADD™ AgentHub, is a role-based, enterprise-ready, and trusted AI platform that will enable our customers to accelerate drug development using agentic AI at scale.”
The platform supports a range of clinical and pharmacovigilance activities, including individual case safety report intake, data entry, coding, review, literature analysis, study design, protocol digitisation, clinical data review and SDTM transformation. It also provides assistance for medical monitoring. TCS said AgentHub enables a Human + AI Operating Model, where AI agents work within enterprise processes while humans retain responsibility for governance and decision-making.
The company is positioning the platform as part of its broader AI-first strategy and ambition to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company. TCS said the platform’s evolving catalogue of AI agents can be deployed according to specific organisational requirements, helping scientific teams shift their focus towards higher-value activities.
