Nvidia is providing up to 105 billion in financing for a new Open Open AI data center in Ohio.

Um so is that Nvidia basically saying, okay, we’re going to finance this data center, which is then going to turn around and buy our chips. Is that it? And if so, should that should that concern us as investors, Dan?

00:21 Dan

It’s it’s somewhat uh that. It’s a the the $105 billion deal is basically, you know, as you said, Nvidia financing uh part of this.

00:30 Dan

Um they have only a portion of the financing. They say that it’s basically kind of the the power land and shell, which is the data center itself. It’s just they call it the shell. Um I don’t know why they just don’t call it the building, but whatever, you know, it’s 6 to one half does the other, it doesn’t matter.

00:44 Dan

The uh the they’re working with SB Energy uh to kind of get this all going and then Open AI would lease it for 20 years this data center.

00:54 Dan

Uh it has the option to go up to 8 gigabytes, uh sorry, 8 gigawatts of uh power. and according to Nvidia, all the chips at least in the in this this initial outlay would be exclusively Nvidia.

01:04 Dan

Uh and so that represents a massive revenue opportunity for them from this one project.

01:09 Dan

Now, uh they have the option to add on to it to to get to that total of 8 gigawatts. those could also be uh Nvidia uh exclusively if Nvidia wants to continue forward with that.

01:21 Dan

But, you know, it’s an absolutely enormous plan here for for 8 gigawatts. We have to see if it ends up, you know, coming to fruition in the way that it’s being laid out.

01:31 Dan

Obviously, we’ve seen, you know, Project Stargate, uh Open AI’s large kind of uh setup that they have with with Oracle uh and Softbank kind of change and and come with different permutations.

01:43 Dan

Uh so it it it all depends on if everything sticks to the way it’s kind of laid out now. Um but we’ll find out uh shortly. They say they’re going to be, you know, starting to get things going soon uh and then it could be up and running at least the first bits uh by 2030.
