Google is helping university students prepare for the upcoming academic year by offering a full year of complimentary access to its student membership plans alongside a refreshed lineup of artificial intelligence (AI) study tools. It is now live on web and mobile across all supported languages for signed-in personal Google accounts, with deployment to school-managed accounts and eligible age groups planned in subsequent weeks.

Study notebooks allow students to convert raw class files and lecture notes into structured, step-by-step revision tracks. For example, after uploading class materials, Gemini constructs a personalised study plan and can run a diagnostic quiz to pinpoint specific subject gaps, Google says.The platform creates bite-sized modules paired with a real-time progress monitor to track learning goals. Google says that upcoming updates will embed diagrams and charts directly into study lessons and, if users allow, automatically populate Google Calendar with test dates and project deadlines directly from uploaded course syllabi.Upgrading to Google AI Plus or Google AI Pro plans allows users to create a higher volume of notebooks using broader reference materials.Interactive 3D visuals and simulationsFor visual learners, Gemini now generates real-time interactive models, simulations, and data grids tailored to specific user prompts.Students can request interactive 3D structures and view dynamic physics demonstrations like the energy exchange of a swinging pendulum, or examine financial metrics through interactive cash burn calculations.
