Anthropic, the developer of the AI assistant Claude, has launched “Claude Academy,” an official tutorial site that lets users systematically learn how to use Claude. The content consists of text, images, and videos, and is available in Japanese. A key feature is that anyone can access it for free without signing in.
Claude Academy is designed to let users choose a learning path based on their proficiency level. In addition to a course covering AI fundamentals, it offers product-specific courses for five offerings: the chat interface “Claude.ai,” the AI agent platform “Claude Cowork,” the coding tool “Claude Code,” “Claude Tag” for sharing AI on Slack, and “Claude Platform” for using Claude via API.
The Claude.ai course starts with basic product concepts and progressively explains how to write effective prompts, how to ask follow-up questions, and how to create projects. The Claude Platform course covers more specialized content, including Claude Code for automating development tasks and how to deploy Anthropic applications including Computer Use for UI automation.
Some courses include hands-on exercises where users actually operate Claude. By signing in to Claude, users can save their learning progress, allowing them to continue learning at their own pace.
Anthropic announced on its official X account: “Claude Academy is now live. Whether you’re just starting to learn what AI is or already use Claude every day, there’s a learning path for every stage. Courses and tutorials are free for everyone.”
The launch of Claude Academy is positioned as an effort to lower the barrier to entry for generative AI tools. Previously, learning how to use AI tools relied heavily on community forums and unofficial tutorials, but by officially providing systematic learning content for free, the developer aims to attract a broad range of users from beginners to advanced.
A distinctive feature is the product-specific learning paths, especially as interest expands beyond simple chat use cases to agent-based applications such as coding assistance and business process automation. By officially providing explanations of developer-oriented features like Claude Code and Computer Use, Anthropic also hopes to reduce adoption barriers for enterprises.
The launch of Claude Academy can be seen as a strategic move by Anthropic to deepen understanding of its product ecosystem among both individual and enterprise users. Enhancing free, officially accessible learning resources could also serve as a differentiating factor against competing generative AI services.
