OpenAI has added a sticker-making feature to ChatGPT, allowing users to create and customise packs of up to nine AI-generated stickers from a simple text prompt, then share them through apps such as WhatsApp and iMessage.
Stickers have become a language of their own in online conversations. A reaction, an inside joke, a cartoon version of a friend or even a pet caught making an unusual expression can sometimes say more than a line of text. OpenAI is now bringing that format into ChatGPT with a new feature that lets users generate personalised sticker packs using artificial intelligence.
The feature is powered by ChatGPT Images 2.0, OpenAI’s latest image-generation model, and allows users to turn written prompts into a collection of stickers. Rather than generating a single image, ChatGPT can create up to nine stickers as part of one pack.
Users can describe almost any idea they want to turn into a sticker set. That could be a collection based on a pet, a fictional character, a particular mood or an inside joke shared with friends. The resulting stickers can then be customised further before being downloaded or shared directly through WhatsApp or iMessage.
The update also offers a choice of up to 18 visual styles. Options include Anime, 3D and Holographic designs, allowing the same idea to be interpreted in different ways. Users can additionally remix their creations with emojis to modify or personalise the stickers further.

Creating a sticker pack begins with opening the ChatGPT app on a mobile device and entering a prompt describing the kind of stickers you want.
For instance, a user could ask ChatGPT to generate a sticker pack featuring their kitten in different moods or reactions. The prompt does not need to follow a fixed format, although providing details about the character, expressions or style can help guide the result.
ChatGPT Images 2.0 then generates the sticker collection, with up to nine stickers included in a pack. Users can choose from the available styles to change the overall appearance of the images.
Once the stickers have been generated, they can be remixed with emojis for additional customisation. The completed pack can then be downloaded or shared through supported messaging platforms, including WhatsApp and iMessage.
The sticker feature forms part of a broader update to ChatGPT’s image-generation capabilities. OpenAI says ChatGPT Images 2.0 brings improvements to how the model follows instructions and handles more detailed or complex image requests.
The model is also designed to produce images containing denser and more accurate text, an area where AI image generators have historically struggled. It supports more advanced image generation and editing as well, allowing users to refine an existing creation through follow-up prompts or make changes to specific elements within an image.
Eligible users
The sticker-making feature is available globally to users of the ChatGPT mobile app and is free to use, according to OpenAI.
Users do not need a separate sticker-making application to access the feature. They can generate sticker packs directly within ChatGPT by describing what they want to create.
The rollout gives the company’s image-generation tools another everyday use case beyond creating standalone illustrations or editing photos. Instead of producing a single image for viewing or downloading, the new option focuses on content designed to be used repeatedly in private conversations and group chats.
For users, the process is straightforward: open ChatGPT on a phone, describe an idea, select a visual style and generate the pack.
