Three major AI providers appear to be facing an outage
Popular AI agents such as ChatGPT, Claude and Grok seem to be down for multiple users. Google Gemini seems to be unaffected, as does Claude’s Haiku.
It appears that the AI-pocalypse may finally be upon us. However, the roles seem reversed: popular AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok appear to be down, with reports on X claiming they’re all non-functional. Hordes of X users have taken to the platform to complain about the outage. As is the case with everything on the platform, information is fragmented, with some users stating things are working fine for them, while others vehemently disagree.
OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Anthropic’s diagnostic portals for their chatbots share the same story, reporting major errors in ChatGPT/Codex, Grok 4.6, and a bunch of Claude models such as Mythos/Fable 5.1, Mythos/Fable 5, Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and Opus 4.6. Anthropic’s most affordable model, Haiku, seems to be unaffected so far, as are all the Google Gemini models, including the newly unveiled Gemini 3.8 Flash.
Z.ai took the opportunity to have some fun on X, as did OpenAI. Either way, the outage is being worked on and should ideally be fixed in the coming hours. Watch this space for future updates.
