Alphabet Inc. GOOGL, Google’s search, cloud and artificial-intelligence parent, committed €13 billion to Finnish digital infrastructure, clean energy and economic partnerships over the next two years. The stock fell approximately 3% to $328.20 on Wednesday. Reuters reported that the investment includes three new data centers in northern Finland.
Google is locking down far more than server space. A 22-year agreement will support the Loviisa nuclear plant’s extended operation, while a 94-megawatt battery system and additional wind capacity will strengthen the power network behind its AI expansion. The company estimates that construction will support more than 37,000 jobs across 2027 and 2028 and add €3.6 billion annually to Finland’s economy.
The chart shows Alphabet trading 28.33% above its GF Value™ estimate of $255.75, leaving little room for disappointing returns on this spending wave. Finland brings cold-weather cooling and dependable low-carbon electricity, but cheap power alone does not create attractive economics. Alphabet is securing capacity years in advance; Gemini and Google Cloud must now generate enough demand to keep that infrastructure productive.
