Visakhapatnam: The consul general at the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, Laura Williams, said that the Google AI Hub project, which includes a one-gigawatt, 600-acre campus and a new international subsea gateway, represents far more than a data centre. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam on Monday, the Consul General said it represents the strength of the US–India partnership.”As US ambassador Sergio Gor delivered at the AI Summit held in New Delhi, the potential for our two nations to work together is limitless. When prime minister Narendra Modi and president Donald Trump met in Washington a year ago, they launched the US–India Compact (catalysing opportunities for military partnership, accelerated commerce, and technology). At the heart of this framework is the TRUST (transforming the relationship using strategic technology) initiative. And earlier this year, on the final day of the AI summit in Delhi, India signed the PAX Silica Declaration. By doing so, India joinined other countries committed to working with the US to build secure and resilient supply chains for silicon stack technologies, including semiconductors and AI systems,” said Williams”These initiatives are not only about strengthening cooperation between governments, they also increase trade, enhance academic research, and bring prosperity to individuals in both of our countries as we work together to achieve shared goals. Projects like the AI Hub we are celebrating today demonstrate US–India tech partnership in action, and they serve as a foundation for even deeper cooperation to come. Fuelled by the U.S. AI stack and secure infrastructure, this data centre will provide computing power for Indian researchers and entrepreneurs to imagine, build, and deploy tools that will improve the lives of people around the world. The partnership this Google AI Hub facility represents will power our shared prosperity and security for generations to come,” the consul general added.
