Cloud project management provider monday.com Ltd. today relaunched itself as an “AI work platform,” repositioning itself around context-aware artificial intelligence agents that execute tasks alongside human workers.

The repositioning represents monday.com’s most significant strategic shift since going public in 2021, recasting the platform from a tool that helps teams track work to one that performs the work itself. AI agents are available across monday.com starting today.

The company’s new AI agents ship inside the platform and are available to every customer with no setup required. The agents can draft marketing campaigns, qualify sales leads, triage support tickets, generate reports, run project workflows and handle budget approvals. The agents operate under human supervision and within monday.com’s existing security, permissions and governance controls.

The company argues the agents differ from bolt-on AI tools because they sit inside a single structured platform with context across an entire business, drawing on data from different teams to support planning and execution rather than running outside core systems.

“Monday.com has a new identity and a new purpose,” said co-founder and co-Chief Executive Roy Mann. “For over a decade, we helped teams manage work. Now we are in the business of getting it done. That shift required us to go all in, rebuilding core parts of the platform around agents, because we understood that AI is not a feature you add. It is a foundation you build on.”

Along with the repositioning, monday.com announced one-click connectors to leading external AI platforms, including Anthropic PBC’s Claude, OpenAI Group PBC’s ChatGPT, Microsoft Corp.’s Copilot and Alphabet Inc.’s Google Gemini. The company also said customers will be able to access multiple large language models through its AI Platform Gateway, while new AI modules are being added to Make, monday.com’s automation product. Expanded agent experiences are coming to collaboration tools including Slack.

The pitch is aimed at the gap between enterprise AI ambition and production deployment. The company cited Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. research showing that although enterprises have broadened AI access by 50%, only 25% have moved 40% or more of their experiments into production, and just 34% of companies are using AI to deeply transform their businesses.

“Every product decision we make starts with one question: does this create real value for our customers?” said co-founder and co-CEO Eran Zinman. “With over 250,000 organizations already running their work on monday.com, we are uniquely positioned to make AI adoption real, not just possible. We are not asking customers to change how they work. We are bringing AI into how they already work.”

The repositioning puts monday.com into more direct competition with Asana Inc., Atlassian Corp., Smartsheet Inc. and ClickUp, all of which have layered generative AI features into their work platforms over the last two years.
