AT&T and Microsoft are currently developing proof-of-concept deployments with multiple enterprise customers across the convenience retail and quick-service restaurant sectors, including organizations that operate large, distributed physical footprints and serve millions of customers each day. These early engagements are focused on validating how Connected Spaces for Enterprise can help reduce shrink, improve operational efficiency, and create safer, more responsive environments.
Intelligent edge meets cloud-scale analytics
AT&T Connected Spaces for Enterprise is built on AT&T’s connectivity and edge capabilities alongside Microsoft’s cloud and AI services to support advanced use cases such as:
Enhanced customer experience through space utilization analytics, customer traffic insights and queue monitoring.
Associate efficiency and operational automation by providing equipment uptime and remote management, streamlined workflows and faster troubleshooting.
Energy optimization via consumption monitoring insights and transparency on automated HVAC, lighting and equipment controls.
Loss prevention and organized retail crime (ORC) mitigation delivered through AI-driven video and sensor intelligence.
At the core of the solution is an enterprise gateway built on Microsoft Windows technology that serves as a centralized communications and intelligence layer. The SmartHub securely connects devices at the edge, manages data flows, and enables real-time analytics and alerts, while integrating with Azure for deeper analytics and cloud-based insights.
This collaborative solution is designed to scale across thousands of locations while maintaining strong security and centralized management. Enterprises can integrate Connected Spaces with existing systems and workflows, enabling faster innovation without disrupting day-to-day operations.
