NORMAL (25News Now) – Illinois State University has formed a new collaborations with Chungnam National University in Korea, focused on artificial intelligence education and responsible use.
Leaders from CNU visited ISU for the first time this week. The partnership centers on artificial intelligence, an area both schools are looking to grow, and on teaching students how to use AI responsibly.
The trip was sparked by a former ISU faculty member who now works with Chungnam’s president and helped connect the two schools. The collaboration has been in the works for the past two years.
“Faculty teach our students to use AI responsibly, so we want to work with our partner institutions to understand where their interests lie—whether that’s exploring AI in the classroom or looking at how students are using AI,” said Dr. Roopa Rawjee, executive director of international engagement at Illinois State University.
Rawjee said the agreement is just the first step, with more discussions expected as both universities shape future programs together.
