Google has introduced a new Gemini integration with the Play Store, allowing Android users to discover apps, games, and even in-app purchases through conversational search. The feature, first previewed at I/O 2026, is now rolling out gradually, making app discovery more intuitive and interactive. With this update, users can simply ask Gemini prompts such as “Recommend a meditation app” or “Find a productivity app for meal planning”. Gemini responds with Play Store cards showing apps, ratings, and download counts.The integration enables a direct install flow: tapping on an app card slides up the Play Store listing, allowing instant installation without leaving Gemini. Beyond apps, Gemini can also help users search and purchase in-app items, subscriptions, and gift cards. For example, queries like “Buy Spotify gift card” or “Show me in-app purchases for Clash of Clans” are supported.
