A popular Gemini feature just left the paid tier, enabling personalized images built from your Google data, but you can adjust privacy settings anytime.

Google announced that the Gemini app now offers personalized image generation using Nano Banana technology for a wider audience in the United States. From now on, all eligible users can use this feature for free; previously it was available only to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.

Earlier, Google launched the Personal Intelligence feature with Nano Banana, which allows creating images according to the user’s individual preferences without the need to specify them in the prompt.

For generating Gemini images, it uses data from connected Google services such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search.

For example, instead of phrasing “create an illustration of me and my favorite things, such as coffee and pastries,” you can simply request “create an illustration of me and my favorite things.”

Additionally, Gemini can pull real images from Google Photos, so you don’t need to upload photos manually.

Earlier this year, Personal Intelligence began rolling out in the United States, expanding access to a wider audience, and the company recently extended its capabilities to users in India and Japan.

Privacy Options and Access Controls

Personal Intelligence is a user-consent feature: users can choose which Gemini apps can access it. Once enabled, it becomes on by default for each request, but can be turned off using the toggle in the Tools menu.

In addition, last month Google announced several upcoming Gemini updates, including a new Daily Brief feature, an updated interface, access to the video AI model Gemini Omni, and the Gemini Spark personal agent.

According to the company, the Gemini chatbot has surpassed 750 million monthly active users, underscoring its significant impact in the AI space.

Expanding access to personalized image generation demonstrates Google’s commitment to making AI tools more accessible to a broad audience and strengthening Gemini’s position in a competitive environment.
