Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic announced on the 13th that it is once again extending the free access period for its top-tier AI model, “Claude Fable 5,” for paid plan subscribers through July 19. This marks the third extension, pushing the deadline from the original July 7 to July 12, and now to July 19.<\/p>\n
The extension applies to users on Pro, Max, Team, and select Enterprise plans. The deadline is set for 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time on July 19.<\/p>\n
Usage terms remain unchanged from the previous arrangement. Subscribers on these plans can use Fable 5 for up to 50% of their weekly usage limit at no additional cost, without any separate application or activation process. Fable 5 usage is deducted from the same weekly usage pool shared with other Claude models.<\/p>\n
Anthropic also added that a benefit increasing the weekly usage limit for its AI coding tool, “Claude Code,” by 50% has been extended to the same date.<\/p>\n
Once users exhaust 50% of their weekly limit or after the free access period ends on July 19, they must purchase prepaid usage credits to continue using Fable 5. Credit pricing is set at $10 per million input tokens (approximately 15,000 won) and $50 per million output tokens (approximately 75,000 won).<\/p>\n
It has not been long since Fable 5 became available again to global users on July 1. Previously, under an export control order from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Anthropic suspended global service for Fable 5 and the “Mythos 5” model for 19 days starting June 12. The export control measures at the time disrupted the global supply of the latest models, causing significant inconvenience for users.<\/p>\n
Anthropic stated that its goal is to transition Fable 5 into a formal subscription product as soon as sufficient computing capacity is secured. The extension of the free access period suggests that securing stable service capacity requires additional time even after the export controls were lifted.<\/p>\n
Fable 5 is evaluated as significantly outperforming previous models in capabilities such as long-duration autonomous task execution, high accuracy rates on complex assignments, and the ability to manage multiple sub-agents simultaneously. Industry consensus holds that it is better suited for large-scale projects spanning several days or tasks requiring highly specialized analysis, rather than simple document drafting or email replies.<\/p>\n
