{"id":105214,"date":"2026-07-14T11:01:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T11:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/105214\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T11:01:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T11:01:15","slug":"alibaba-to-team-up-with-honor-in-race-to-build-ai-agentic-devices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/105214\/","title":{"rendered":"Alibaba to team up with Honor in race to build AI agentic devices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Alibaba Group Holding and Honor are set to deepen their tie-up over an operating system for AI-powered devices, as competition in the nascent \u201cAI phone\u201d genre gains momentum in China.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership is expected to be announced at the coming <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/tech\/article\/3360404\/xi-jinping-attend-world-ai-conference-first-time-china-elevates-tech-push?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">World Artificial Intelligence Conference<\/a> (WAIC), which kicks off on Friday in Shanghai, alongside demonstrations of new agent capabilities developed by both, according to people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Shenzhen-based Honor, spun off from Huawei Technologies in 2020, will host a sub-forum at WAIC on Saturday titled \u201cFrom digital screens to embodied intelligence\u201d, CEO Li Jian said in a post on social media platform Weibo on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">High-profile speakers will include Xu Zhuhong, head of multimodal interaction at Alibaba\u2019s Token Foundry unit; Kevin Kelly, founder of Wired; Xu Hao, head of research and development for Qualcomm China; and Liu Jingkang, founder of action-camera maker Insta360.<\/p>\n<p>Alibaba Cloud responded with a post saying \u201cdefine a new model of embodied interaction\u201d through Honor\u2019s <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/tech\/article\/3345042\/chinas-honor-debuts-robot-phone-and-humanoid-companion-push-ai-hardware?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Robot Phone.<\/a> The device, which features a foldable robotic gimbal arm, was formally unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March but has yet to enter mass production or go on sale.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Alibaba and Honor did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.
