Payouts.com<\/a>, a Financial OS for global payouts and finance execution, has unveiled Digital Employee, a collection of role-based AI agents designed to shoulder the everyday workload of a finance department.<\/p>\n

The new offering provides businesses with ready-made specialists covering accounts payable, collections, treasury operations and month-end close, all built upon the firm\u2019s finance operations infrastructure, workflows and compliance logic.<\/p>\n

In contrast to chatbots or pre-scripted automations, the agents function as long-running, multi-step workers. Their duties span reading and OCR-ing invoices, matching them to purchase orders, drafting vendor and customer correspondence in a company\u2019s own voice, and calling internal APIs and tools. They only seek human input when a decision sits beyond their defined boundaries. Their remit covers vendor onboarding, KYC\/KYB, invoice handling, tax form follow-up, approvals, payout scheduling, reconciliation and audit-controlled follow-up. Firms can additionally create bespoke agents through Payouts.com\u2019s MCP server, securely connecting them to their own data and setting policies in plain English.<\/p>\n

According to the company, the launch tackles a longstanding shortfall in traditional finance automation. Rules-based tools cope with narrow, repetitive jobs but falter when invoices fail to match purchase orders, customers dispute charges, or month-end closes demand judgement across numerous edge cases. Recruiting additional staff to plug that gap is costly and slow, while many existing AI finance products remain chat interfaces that summarise rather than act. Digital Employee instead operates within hard spend limits and a policy engine enforcing rules such as multi-party sign-off on large wires. New agents run in shadow mode for a fortnight before gaining autonomy, after which finance leaders receive a weekly report.<\/p>\n
