{"id":108708,"date":"2026-07-16T20:41:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T20:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/108708\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T20:41:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T20:41:13","slug":"google-renames-notebooklm-to-gemini-notebook-dawan-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/108708\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Renames NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook | Dawan Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"relative group\">United States, 16 July 2026 &#8211; Google has announced the renaming of NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook while expanding the capabilities of its AI-powered research assistant.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Thursday, the company stated that the AI assistant, which is a standalone product focused on being your premier research tool, will do more\u00a0across the\u00a0 Google ecosystem, including inside the Gemini app and Google Search.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe introduced NotebookLM at Google I\/O 2023 as\u00a0Project Tailwind with a simple goal: help people learn,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince then, more than 30 million people and over 600,000 organizations are using it to transform how they work, from business owners creating interactive onboarding materials to students converting notes into audio and video summaries,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to changing the name, Google has said that it has started rolling out an\u00a0update that gives every notebook a secure cloud computer to improve the accuracy of the AI assistant.<\/p>\n<p>The update allows Gemini Notebook to write and execute code natively, helping you conduct complex data analysis grounded in your sources.<\/p>\n<p>The feature, according to Google, is available for Google AI Ultra users and Workspace business customers with AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access, with\u00a0plans underway to expand the features to pro users on the web over the\u00a0coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Google is also expanding where users can access their notebooks. According to the company, users can already create and manage notebooks directly within the Gemini app, with content automatically synchronised between the app and the standalone Gemini Notebook platform.<\/p>\n<p>To allow users to access their research materials while searching the web, the company added that it plans to bring notebooks directly into AI Mode in Google Search.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo everyone who has been with us since Project Tailwind in 2023, thank you.
