{"id":109881,"date":"2026-07-17T18:52:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T18:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/109881\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T18:52:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T18:52:13","slug":"fis-deploys-anthropics-mythos-5-to-strengthen-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/109881\/","title":{"rendered":"FIS Deploys Anthropic\u2019s Mythos 5 to Strengthen Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fisglobal.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FIS<\/a> has joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthropic<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/glasswing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Project Glasswing<\/a> and is using the artificial intelligence company\u2019s most advanced frontier model, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/claude\/mythos\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mythos 5<\/a>, to secure its own systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Project Glasswing is Anthropic\u2019s initiative that allows select organizations that build or maintain foundational software to use the company\u2019s most advanced AI models for defensive security work, FIS said in a Friday (July 17) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fisglobal.com\/about-us\/media-room\/press-release\/2026\/fis-and-anthropic-extend-partnership-on-trusted-ai-for-financial-services\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FIS, a global FinTech company, is using Mythos 5 as an additional layer in its security program, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFIS operates systems that clear payments, move money and run core banking for thousands of institutions worldwide,\u201d the company said in the release. \u201cProtecting that code is critical to the stability of global financial infrastructure. At that scale, FIS applies the same standard to its own infrastructure security that it expects from the technology it delivers to clients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anthropic introduced Project Glasswing in April when it announced the limited release of its first Mythos-class AI model, Claude Mythos Preview. The company said the initiative would offer select partners early access to the model so they could use its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cpi-posts\/anthropic-joins-forces-with-amazon-microsoft-apple-on-cyber-defense-ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cybersecurity<\/a> capabilities to strengthen their systems before this class of models was more widely released.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was reported May 12 that the few large banks that had access to Mythos were uncovering vulnerabilities in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cybersecurity\/2026\/banks-slash-patch-times-as-anthropics-mythos-exposes-security-gaps\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IT systems<\/a> and were learning that the AI model can create a high-risk vulnerability by bringing together several lower risk weaknesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By May 22, Anthropic reported that Claude Mythos Preview had identified more than 10,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/anthropic-says-mythos-has-uncovered-more-than-10k-vulnerabilities\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cybersecurity<\/a> vulnerabilities in \u201cthe most systemically important software in the world\u201d so they could be patched.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When Anthropic announced Claude Mythos 5 on June 9, the company said the model would initially be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/anthropic-launches-mythos-class-models-after-developing-safeguards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">released<\/a> only through Project Glasswing in collaboration with the U.S. government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three days later, on June 12, Anthropic disabled some access to Mythos 5 in response to a U.S. government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence\/2026\/anthropic-suspends-mythos-access-following-government-security-concerns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">export control directive<\/a> which cited unspecified \u201cnational security authorities\u201d and called on Anthropic to suspend access to the model by \u201cany foreign national,\u201d whether within or outside the United States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On June 28, it was reported that Anthropic received government approval to restore some access to Mythos 5 and that the company was redeploying the model to a small group of cyber defenders and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence\/2026\/anthropic-gets-greenlight-from-us-to-restore-mythos-access\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">infrastructure providers<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FIS has joined Anthropic\u2019s Project Glasswing and is using the artificial intelligence company\u2019s most advanced frontier model, Mythos&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":109882,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[53,25,313,18261,66,310,311],"class_list":["post-109881","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-anthropic","tag-anthropic","tag-artificial-intelligence","tag-cybersecurity","tag-fis","tag-news","tag-pymnts-news","tag-whats-hot"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/109881","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=109881"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/109881\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/109882"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=109881"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=109881"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=109881"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
