After launching a smart operations centre in Suzhou, east China, the cosmetics giant rolled out automated sorting systems, mobile robots and intelligent storage to speed up deliveries.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The French multinational opened the second phase of its UPX smart manufacturing workshop in the city last month. The highly automated facility integrates AI-powered quality inspection into its core production lines, nine of which are now fully automated.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cChina\u2019s AI and robotics ecosystem is moving very quickly, and we want to grow and invest at the pace of local technology innovators,\u201d said Marc-Antoine Poulle, senior vice-president of operations for North Asia and China at L\u2019Or\u00e9al, during a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the company\u2019s Suzhou plant on June 11.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Swire Group has also integrated AI into customer service, logistics and aviation operations. At Beijing Taikoo Place, the company introduced TK Mates, an AI shopping assistant. Deployed through its digital membership platform, the tool offers personalised fashion recommendations, product searches and tailored customer service, helping to keep shoppers engaged beyond their visits to the mall.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/business\/china-business\/article\/2132793\/coca-cola-cathay-pacific-swire-pacifics-five-major?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Swire Coca-Cola<\/a> has also developed a first-of-its-kind smart robotic picking solution at its Zhengzhou plant.
