<\/p>\nMore than half U.S. employees use artificial intelligence in their jobs, according to the latest Gallup polling, which found that American companies\u2019 use of AI surged significantly in the second quarter.<\/p>\n
A survey released Tuesday found that 52% of U.S. employees now say they use AI at least a few times a year, up from 27% two years ago. It marks the first time in Gallup\u2019s polling that more than half of American employees reported using AI.<\/p>\n

The survey found the most common use of these models is helping employees draft, revise and find information.<\/p>\n
Fifty-one percent report using AI for writing and editing, 49% said search or research and 39% cited general assistance or problem-solving.<\/p>\n
A third of employees use AI in their role a few times a week or more \u2013 15% use it daily. People who use AI tools frequently are more likely to use the chatbot for all their tasks.<\/p>\n
Nearly half \u2013 47% \u2013 of the survey\u2019s respondents reported that their organization has integrated AI tools to improve productivity, efficiency or quality, up from 41% in the last quarter. Twenty percent of people surveyed do not know if their organization has adopted AI technology.<\/p>\n
The survey found that AI has had a major effect on respondents\u2019 productivity. Employees that use AI for coding assistance, process automation and creating decks or presentations rated AI\u2019s capabilities for work the most highly, with more than three-fourths of respondents viewing AI\u2019s impact in those areas as somewhat or extremely positive.<\/p>\n
The survey also found AI-assisted productivity increases as employees use AI for more tasks. Among those who use AI for one or more tasks, 45% reported it had a somewhat or extremely positive impact on their personal productivity. But among employees who use AI for seven or more purposes, 90% reported a positive impact on productivity.<\/p>\n
