Thanks to the availability of Suno, ChatGpt and other AI programs online, I admit, I can’t tell who or what is real anymore. What on earth is an unsuspecting audience to do?<\/p>\n

It’s not that I’m one of those people who hates all artificial intelligence, or that I have it in for AI, because that’s not who I am.<\/p>\n

I even wrote a little resource book for skeptical or knowledgeable writers like I used to be, when it came to using ChatGpt. I merely shared how much fun I was having, once I started using the basic AI program, to help me design cover images for my stories. SEE: “Me and AI” [Available on Amazon] <\/p>\n

So, before you read the following story, just know that I have no beef with AI, or with the individuals behind the two “people” I’m about to talk about.<\/p>\n

The Deception Was All My Fault<\/p>\n

Even though the title of this story says I was duped, I have to admit, apparently it was my own fault.<\/p>\n

Even still…<\/p>\n

I can’t begin to tell you how ridiculous I feel after notifying practically every female I know, and extolling the virtues of what I thought was a new female singing artist (or at least new to me) by the name of Ingarose (and when I say “female” – I mean as in an actual human being).<\/p>\n

I was so super excited about the new music and artist I discovered, I wrote and published a story in Vocal’s Viva Community<\/a>, hoping to put some of my fellow females up on game (as I think the young folks still say).<\/p>\n

They published my story titled:<\/p>\n

Empowerment: Ladies if You’re Not Listening to Ingarose, You’re Missing Out on A Gripping Voice & Powerful Message – Celebrate yourself and don’t apologize!<\/a><\/p>\n

You can read what I wrote about her later – but let me just say, I made it clear how blown away I was by this artist, for more reasons than one.<\/p>\n

Lately, following my slow down with writing stories on the Medium platform; I’ve been doing a lot of product listing for my newest writing venture, which involves writing lists of recommendations on Benable.<\/p>\n

Although I enjoy what I’m doing on Benable, it still felt good to write about Ingarose, and make a recommendation about something that wasn’t necessarily product related.<\/p>\n

In fact, when I accidentally stumbled onto a motivational speaker video of a guy who calls himself Wisdom Uncle, I was equally excited about his video and what he had to say in: 7 Things Women Have No Idea Men Notice<\/a> <\/p>\n

…and this is where my bubble begins to burst.<\/p>\n

Discovering Being Duped by AI<\/p>\n

To my utter surprise and initial disappointment, I discovered that in both instances, I’d been duped by AI.<\/p>\n

Yes friends – I found out about Ingarose when my sister informed me, during the same conversation that I was sharing the information about Wisdom Uncle. <\/p>\n

After my first reactions of disbelief, denial and disappointment, I mostly just felt foolish for “sharing” in such a way, when I didn’t have all the facts.<\/p>\n

And to be clear – it is apparently common knowledge that both are the products of AI development, because you can easily “just Google it” like my sister was all too happy to inform me.<\/p>\n

But my question is, what reason did I have to even suspect that they might not be real people and so I should check to make sure?<\/p>\n

Is that really the new standard now, and how far does that standard extend? <\/p>\n

Should we apply the “Check to see if it’s real” philosophy to every artist and creative, and every work of art, whatever way it’s presented (Music, movies, books, and people of every kind)?<\/p>\n

I think its crazy that we even have to ask the question about “asking the question.” It’s too exhausting for this old broad \ud83d\ude1e.<\/p>\n

We Can Still Respect the Humanity Behind AI<\/p>\n

Now that I’m over my initial reaction to what I discovered, I’m able to see and respect the fact that there is still an element of human input behind the personas and abilities represented by these two AI creations.<\/p>\n

In the case of IngaRose, we’re talking about a:<\/p>\n

“…fully artificial, AI-generated R&B\/Soul artist whose song “Celebrate Me” topped US and global iTunes charts in April 2026. <\/p>\n

The Ingarose persona is reported as being “Created using the Suno AI platform”.<\/p>\n

Say what you want about AI, clearly some human intelligence and creativity made the popularity of this artist possible.<\/p>\n

…and as for Wisdom Uncle videos, it is fully disclosed that they are AI generated. The videos state somewhere (often by the character himself):<\/p>\n

The account creator explicitly identifies the character as “your favorite AI uncle” <\/p>\n

In his case, it’s easier to see how the character’s savvy viewpoint and perspective could be the result of collective voices who write and contribute to the content, which just goes to confirm what I just stated:<\/p>\n

Clearly human intelligence and creativity made the popularity of this artist possible.<\/p>\n

Now, I’m not so much as upset by learning that these artists aren’t truly humans, as I am by the fact that I could have and should have done even just a tiny bit of research and easily revealed the truth.<\/p>\n

But that leads me back to my earlier question of why would I?<\/p>\n

Had I not found out the truth, there’s nothing about them to me, that would have automatically triggered my personal AI detector.<\/p>\n

Come to think of it – I don’t even have one.<\/p>\n

Maybe I’d better get me one of those. \ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2640<\/p>\n
