The series ran across four sessions:<\/p>\n<p>Based on the learning and insights gathered through techUK\u2019s workshops, the brief identifies four interdependent areas that organisations need to have in place to adopt agentic AI successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Industry Brief - Adoption of Agentic AI front cover only (1).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Industry-Brief-Adoption-of-Agentic-AI-front-cover-only-1.jpg\" style=\"height:566px; width:400px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>We set out how progress in any one area enables progress across the others, while weakness in one has the potential to constrain the whole. The four ingredients of success are:<\/p>\n<p>\ttechnical readiness;<br \/>\n\torganisational structures and ways of working;<br \/>\n\tworkforce preparedness; and<br \/>\n\tgovernance.<\/p>\n<p>The brief\u2019s recommendations are organised around these four areas, alongside practical actions for government and regulators.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations below set out practical actions for organisations, government and regulators to support the responsible scaling of agentic AI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techuk.org\/login.html?postLoginUrl=https:\/\/www.techuk.org\/resource\/what-it-takes-to-scale-the-responsible-adoption-of-agentic-ai.html\" style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(55, 112, 202); text-decoration: none; cursor: pointer;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Login or register to download the full report<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Actions for organisations looking to adopt and scale agentic AI\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The following actions should be considered by organisations looking to move their use of agentic AI beyond proof-of-concept and pilot stages.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Technical readiness: tooling capabilities for agentic AI\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tDetermine the right tools for tasks and design orchestration platforms effectively.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tBuild observability in from day one.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMap processes before deploying agents.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMeasure whether agents are improving real outcomes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Organisational structures and ways of working\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Workforce preparedness: skills and capabilities needed and the future of work\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tBuild AI literacy and fluency across the workforce.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tAssess workforce impacts as deployment scales, including on graduate and entry-level roles.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tInvest in workforce readiness alongside technical deployment, including managing agentic AI fleets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Governance\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tTreat governance, assurance, safety and meaningful human oversight as enablers of scale.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tTest shutdown, fallback and override mechanisms regularly.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tUse existing AI governance standards as a foundation, but complement them with more deployment-specific controls.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Government actions to support agentic AI adoption\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Responsible scaling will depend not only on organisational readiness and action, but also on practical guidance, regulatory clarity and policy support. Workshop participants identified areas where action from government and regulators could help scale adoption.
