Japanese IT services company starts with TinySonae for BCP use cases and plans broader AI agent deployment in supply chains, marketing and finance. Photo by Visax<\/a> on Unsplash<\/a> NEC Networks & System Integration Corp. said on July 21 it had signed a strategic partnership with U.S.-based TinyFish Inc. as the Japanese company seeks to enter the data bank segment for artificial intelligence and AI agents.<\/p>\n The partnership is part of NEC Networks & System Integration’s AI Agent Ready project and is aimed at promoting AI agent adoption by companies and local governments through data search, retrieval and analysis while optimizing token costs. Token costs refer to fees linked to the volume of text processed by generative AI models.<\/p>\n As companies expand their use of generative AI, interest has been growing in AI agents that can connect with business systems and SaaS applications to make decisions and carry out tasks autonomously. NEC Networks & System Integration said the challenge is to quickly collect accurate and reliable information from a web environment crowded with large volumes of unverified or outdated content, where AI hallucinations can also delay decisions and create business risks.<\/p>\n TinyFish provides an AI service focused on web search and data acquisition that can autonomously navigate websites and gather information in parallel. The service is designed to access sites that do not offer APIs, dynamic pages and login-protected sites while applying controls suited to site characteristics and connection policies. It also analyzes the freshness and accuracy of collected information and conducts additional searches when the AI determines information is insufficient, with the aim of extracting and structuring highly reliable data.<\/p>\n As the first initiative under the partnership, NEC Networks & System Integration will begin handling TinySonae as a solution for business continuity planning, or BCP, where decision-making depends on speed and accuracy of information. BCP is a framework used by companies and public bodies in Japan to maintain operations during disasters and other disruptions. The company said TinySonae can support rapid decision-making during disasters by extracting accurate facts in real time from mixed information circulating on social media and other channels.<\/p>\n The companies also plan to expand the collaboration into supply chains, marketing and finance, while jointly testing ways to optimize token costs, which NEC Networks & System Integration said are increasing rapidly with broader AI use.<\/p>\n TinyFish was founded in 2024 and is located at 4410 El Camino Real, Suite #220, Los Altos, California 94022.
